Originally opened in 1957, Colonial Heights Middle School served generations of students before closing in 2021. Following its purchase by Lakeway Christian Schools in 2022, JAI reimagined the 70,000-square-foot building for Tri-Cities Christian Academy, renewing its role as a place for learning and connection. The renovation addresses both the everyday experience of students and staff and the needs of an aging building. A new drop-off drive and entry canopy establish a welcoming arrival, while relocated administrative offices and secure entry points support visitor management. New lighting and ceilings refresh learning spaces throughout the school, complemented by structural repairs, new roofing, and updated HVAC systems. Outdoor improvements include a new grandstand design and playground facilities. The renovated school currently serves students in grades six through twelve while TCA’s new campus is under construction. By adapting an existing community resource, the project gives a familiar place renewed purpose and supports the school through an important period of growth.
