Dollywood The Dolly Parton Experience
JAI worked hand-in-hand with Dollywood and Herschend Family Entertainment on The Dolly Parton Experience. The project includes the full renovation of two existing buildings, a lobby renovation and new retail shop in the DreamSong Theater, as well as the redesign of the existing area development. Songteller is an interactive and immersive experience that takes guests alongside Dolly through seven distinct exhibits spanning her life and iconic career. The experience includes a fully immersive multimedia show with floor-to-ceiling projection on four walls. The renovation of an existing facility, Behind the Seams features a curated exhibit of Dolly’s Signature Style throughout her career and a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process. Specialty exhibit cases display a curated selection of some of Dolly’s iconic outfits and accessories. Precious Memories is a renovation of the lobby area in the existing DreamSong Theater that invokes the importance of faith and family. The exterior of the three buildings were reimagined with new marquees, paint schemes and, of course, butterflies, including an almost 40-foot-tall shimmering butterfly portal welcoming guests to the new Songteller exhibit. The plaza was redesigned to add new landscape planters, food cart areas and includes a new location for Dolly’s home on wheels, her tour bus.
