Johnson Architecture promotes Heather Overton to director of administration

Johnson Architecture has promoted Heather Overton to director of administration to oversee business and management operations.

Overton, who joined the firm in 2009 as a business development assistant, will handle invoicing, tracking of accounts payable and receivable, and coordination of human resources and accounting functions.

“Heather is very familiar with our firm and our clients and will easily transition into expanded responsibilities,” said Daryl Johnson, founder and president of Johnson Architecture. “Helping our people advance in their careers always has been a priority at Johnson Architecture, and we welcome Heather to the management team.”

Overton earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in statistics from the University of Tennessee in 1999 and an Associate of Arts in social and behavioral sciences from Pellissippi State Community College in 1997. In 2018, she received the Alumni Volunteer Award from Pellissippi State Community College, where she serves on the Board of Trustees.

She also is a member of the Pellissippi State Alumni Steering Committee and serves on the Green Magnet Academy Steering Committee and as PTA vice president. She was a founding board member for Little Oaks Academy, a nonprofit child care facility, and served as program chair for the Knoxville Association of Women Executives and on the investment committee for United Way of Greater Knoxville.

Overton lives in Holston Hills with husband Brad, son Cole and dogs Lilly and Mary.
