Johnson Architecture has hired University of Tennessee graduate Michael Schmidt as an intern architect.
Previously, Schmidt served as a student intern for Johnson Architecture, starting in 2018.
“In Michael’s time with us as an intern, we valued his attitude and aptitude,” said Daryl Johnson, founder and president of Johnson Architecture. “As he moves into practice, we all look forward to seeing his development within his craft and benefiting from his contributions to client projects.”
Schmidt graduated in May with a Bachelor of Architecture from the UT College of Architecture and Design. In 2019, he studied abroad at Cracow University of Technology (CUT) in Kraków, Poland, where his studies focused on urban planning.
Schmidt has contributed to several Johnson Architecture projects, including for clients Washington Presbyterian Church, Clayton Homes, Cherokee Bluff Condominiums, New Hotel Collection Smoky Mountains and OTICS USA in addition to a historic Sequoyah Hills home renovation.
A native of Knoxville, Schmidt enjoys biking and cooking in his spare time.
