Johnson Architecture has hired University of Tennessee graduate JD Schumacher as an intern architect.
Schumacher studied at UT’s College of Architecture and Design, where he was named a 2023 Distinguished Design Award finalist. He interned at Johnson Architecture for two summers, in 2021 and 2022, and now joins as a full-time member of the firm. Schumacher previously interned at Boral Stone Products LLC, supporting the manufacturing processes and working alongside engineers.
“We have been fortunate to get to know and work with JD over the past two summers,” said Daryl Johnson, founder and president of Johnson Architecture. “His familiarity with our clients and drive to develop his skills is an asset to the entire team. We are proud that JD chose to continue his career path at Johnson Architecture.”
Schumacher’s skillset consists of AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino and Adobe platforms. He also is adept at architectural visualization and digital modeling.
Schumacher is from Rochester, New York. He is a self-proclaimed “jack of all trades,” who enjoys learning about many topics and can play guitar.
