Sullivan’s Fine Food

Client: Sullivan’s Fine Food
Year: 2003

In 2002, Sullivan’s leased the 1920’s Trotter Building for their downtown Maryville location. Johnson Architecture added a custom canopy and carved out a patio at street level for an outdoor dining experience.  Our client wanted a sophisticated, yet energetic interior to appeal to the young professional clientele in Maryville. The rich texture of the original brick walls was used as a backdrop for the warm contemporary space. The bar is accented with the use of LED lighting programmed to slowly change colors. The main floor of the restaurant is segmented into multiple dining platforms to take advantage of the vertical space within the building. Banquet facilities were created by the addition of a mezzanine, accessible by a new monumental stair. The project received the IIDA State Gold Award in 2003 for outstanding hospitality design.
