Get to Know: Sarah Hime
Sarah Hime is a JAI student intern.
What is your role at JAI?
Architecture student intern.
What has been your proudest moment to date working at JAI?
Scanning the drawings of the school where I went to kindergarten – First Lutheran School in Knoxville – was really neat.
How has working at JAI enhanced your professional development?
I barely knew what a sheet drawing layout was before I started here, so it’s safe to say I have learned quite a bit since.
Before joining JAI, what was the most unusual job you held? What made it so?
For two summers, I worked nights in a UT residence hall. There were a lot of unique encounters during that job! Especially during the shifts that went from 4-8 a.m.
If you were stranded alone on an island, what material possessions would you hope to have with you?
Sunscreen and an umbrella. I burn. And then burn again. No tan here!
What is your secret talent?
I love weaving! I have a 2’x2’ loom that I DIYed last Christmas break. My roommates just have to deal with all the wall hangings I have made.
What are you currently watching?
I recently watched the entirety of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the free trial week of Disney+ and got pretty maxed out on movies (and explosions) for the foreseeable future.
