Shopper News: New treasures uncovered in Knoxville’s first church founded over 200 years ago

At more than 115 years old, First Presbyterian Church’s sanctuary on State Street with its colonnaded Greek Revival front is considered a valuable landmark of Knoxville.

During some remodeling and addition work completed within the last year, a few more treasures of both the man-made and natural variety were also found alongside the iconic sanctuary.

That included lost stained-glass windows and a larger-than-expected limestone rock surrounding the building.
