About

After designing their original 6,200 square-foot home in 2001, this Knoxville homeowner invited JAI back to expand their interior and exterior living space to accommodate their growing family.  The 2010 addition included a main level gathering space that opens to a covered outdoor kitchen with fireplace and a new guest suite with lake views. The lower living areas were expanded to provide the owners with a home theater complete with projection screen, kitchenette, tiered seating area, theater quality soundproofing and audio systems. Also new to downstairs are an additional guest suite, pool bath and storage space. The interior layout, exterior form and material selection all dovetail seamlessly with the original home, making this a cohesive design blending old and new. The 2012 expansion enclosed the home’s existing porch with phantom screens and provided a new outdoor kitchen and fireplace.
